What does the Reformation Mean to Me?

      Today is October 31, also known as Reformation Day among many Protestant churches.  I have written in the past about the history of Reformation Day, and the pivotal importance of Martin Luther and his actions hold in the history of the Christian church. I won't go into all of that today. If you are unfamiliar with the Reformers, the events of the Reformation, and the power of the Catholic Church at the time, I encourage you to do a little research. It will bring you to your knees in thankfulness to God for the courage and faith of these men who gave their all in defense of Scriptural truth.     I read recently some thoughts from some amazing women of God as they shared what the Reformation meant to them. Praying For Our Pastor, Part 3

      Did you know that honoring our pastor and leadership is directly commanded in Scripture?  I Thessalonians  5:12-13 says:      And now, friends, we ask you to honor those leaders, who work so hard for you, who have been given the responsibility of urging and guiding you along in your obedience. Overwhelm them with appreciation and love. I Timothy 5:17 tells us: The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching. Praise God for a pastor and leadership who lead well, faithfully teaching the Word and leading by faith! These men are worthy of our appreciation. Honoring them begins with faithful prayer.
