More on Prayer

Jesus begins his prayer in Luke 11 by calling on His Father.  By telling us to do the same, we are given the privilege of being children of God!  We are granted this special relationship and we are granted access to a Holy God by virtue of this adopted status.   For  ye have  not  received  the spirit  of bondage  again  to  fear;  but  ye have received  the Spirit  of adoption,  whereby  we cry,  Abba,  Father.  Romans 8:15 KJV Similar to our word for "Daddy" we see the warm, comforting, loving side of God in Luke 11 as well as Romans 8.  Perfectly balancing this (so we don't forget the majesty of the one we are approaching) Jesus follows "Our Father" with " in Heaven."  This reminds us that He is the Ruler of the Universe!  There is always an element of awe, gratitude and humility when we remember who we are in comparison to Him.   This privileg...

Powerful Prayer

With all of the turmoil in the world: wars, pandemic, death, crime, natural disasters... I am often at a loss to know how to pray.  What can I say to a God who knows everything and has everything under His control?  Who am I to ask Him to do this or that?  Am I saying the right words?  Does it matter?  Are my prayers heard?    Thankfully, the answers are in the Bible!   Let's look into this more... Your kingdom come. 3 Give us each day our daily bread, b 4 and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves for...

What and Why

Dear sisters,      Each of us is juggling a million things right now.  We are pulled in so many different directions, whether we want to be or not!  At the end of the day, we are exhausted and barely have the energy to kiss our loved ones goodnight.  After juggling family, work and/or school, sometimes our minds are too tired to focus on our Bible, much less squeeze in attending an in person Bible study!       It is my hope that we can continue to encourage one another through multiple formats, so that you are never left alone.      Our in person Bible studies will continue as soon as schedules and health allow! We want to encourage you to join us in person or via Zoom for these special times of fellowship and encouragement in the Word.  Stay tuned for updates on that! However, if this is not possible, check in to this site for devotionals and encouragement in your daily walk.        Prayers a...
